CONDITIONS OF ENTRY AND SALE OF WORKS

  1. Entrants must be residents of W.A.

  2. Each entrant may submit up to three (3) photographs.
    No one photograph may be entered into more than one of these categories. Diptychs separately framed count as 2 works.

  3. Work must be the photographer’s original work and not previously exhibited in the Avon Valley.

  4. The visible area of photographs themselves must not be less than 280 squ.cm in total area (eg. 15x20cm mounted), and must be ready to hang with secure fittings and wire or cord. The work must not exceed 1 metre in either dimension, including frame if present.

  5. It is desirable, but not obligatory, that works be for sale.
    A 25% commission is levied on all sales.

  6. If reproductions of your work are available, please supply a separate costing for these.

  7. A completed "ID" FORM must be attached to the back bottom left-hand corner of each work. This form and your receipt will be sent to you approximately two weeks prior to the opening of the Exhibition. Notification of any changes to prices or titles must be received by the Society at least one week before the opening.

  8. ENTRY FORMS must be accompanied by a cheque or money order made out to The York Society, Inc., at the rate of $15 per work and must be received by the Society by 1 March, 2010. No late entries will be accepted and the entry fee will not be refundable.
  9. The organisers will appoint judges. If, in their opinion, there is no entry of an adequate standard, the judges may refrain from making an award. All works will be judged, but hanging of exhibits is at the organisers’ discretion. There will be an upper limit of 200 works hung.

  10. The organisers may allow for any work to be repro- duced for publicity, catalogue or archival publications.

  11. Entries should be delivered to the Sandalwood Gallery, York between 10am and 4pm, Monday or Tuesday, 22-23 March, or left at the York Town Hall, Sat. or Sun. 20-21 March between 10am and 4pm, or posted to The York Society, Inc., PO Box 587, York, 6302.
    No works will be accepted after 23 March.

  12. Works must be suitably packed for dispatch and return. All packages and wrappings must be clearly marked with the name and address of the entrant and the number of items contained.

  13. The York Society will make no payment for freight or other charges.
    Works to be returned by courier must have freight prepaid or suitable arrangements made.

  14. Works may be collected from the Society stewards only at the Sandalwood Gallery at the following times:

    Monday, 5 April, 3.30pm-6.00pm
    Tuesday, 6 April, 10.00am-1.00pm
    Saturday, 10 April, 11.00am-3.00pm
    Sunday, 11 April, 11.00am-3.00pm
    Other times by arrangement only.After 30 days, unclaimed works will become the property of The York Society. Persons other than the entrant or purchaser may not collect works without written permission.
     

  15. Entries, including those purchased during the exhibition, shall not be removed from the Gallery until 3.30pm on Monday, 5 April.

  16. The York Society will take all reasonable care with submitted works, but shall not be responsible for loss or damage to any works while they are in the custody of the Society’s agents.
    Entrants are responsible for insuring their works against loss or damage.
