AWARD FOR AN ARTWORK

DEPICTING ‘BLANDSTOWN’

This prize, inaugurated in 2009 will be for a work in one of the following categories:

 

1. Painting, Oil or Acrylic

2. Painting, Watercolour

3. Drawing

4. Pastels

 

The work must depict a building or some other aspect of the area of York known as ‘Blandstown’.

 

This area is bounded by Henrietta St/Balladong Rd, the Railway Line, Knotts Rd and the Avon River.  The area also includes the Residency Museum and the Old York Hospital in Brook St, see the map below.

 

The Award is being made by the Lutze family in memory of Shirley Lutze who died in 2009.  Shirley was a great advocate for the heritage conservation of Blandstown as well as being a very active member of The York Society.
