York Research and Archival Centre
The York Research and Archival Centre is the hub of local history research in York. Our extensive collection of documents contains a wealth of research material on the many aspects of York's history. However if we haven't got what you're looking for then it's more than likely that we can tell you where you might be likely to find it. Did your ancestors live in York? We can provide information about where they may have lived, what they might have done and where they may have gone. Separate rooms are available for private research or our experienced volunteers will carry out research for a small fee.
