CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1) Each entrant may submit up to 4 original works. Only 3 works may be entered in any one category. 2) Entrants must be residents of Western Australia. 3) Work must be original, completed since Jan., 2010, and not previously exhibited in the Avon Valley. Craft must be designed by the entrant and made by hand, or with the use of appropriate and necessary tools. Works from commercial kits or plans are not eligible. Collaborative works must be identified as such.
4) Works must be suitably presented to exhibition standard.
Paintings and framed craft works should not exceed 1.5m in either
dimension, including frame, and should be ready to hang with secure
fittings and wire. 6) An entry ID must be attached to the bottom left-hand corner of the back of each work. ID labels and receipts will be sent to you on receipt of your entry form and fee within two weeks before the Exhibition. Any changes to titles or prices must be made at least one week prior to the Exhibition. 7) Completed entry forms, accompanied by the required fees, must be received in York by 5pm Monday, September 12, 2011. Late entries will not be accepted. 8) The judging panel will view all entries received, but the organisers reserve the right to select works for exhibition, and some entries may not be exhibited. If, in the judges’ opinion, there is no entry of an adequate standard in a section, they may refrain from making an award. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 9) The organisers may permit any work to be reproduced for publicity, catalogue or archival publications. Delivery: 10) Entries should be delivered to the York Town Hall between 10am - 3pm, Saturday, 1st October - Tuesday, 4th October or mailed to the York Society, PO Box 587, York, 6302 or delivered by Courier to the York Town Hall within the above dates. Suggested couriers are Quality Transport/Kal Express, 9353 2000, Courier Australia, 13 1885, Stirling Freight Express, 9356 2555 and Australia Post Courier Service, 13 13 18. No works will be accepted after these dates 11) Works must be securely packaged and delivered free of all charges. No payment whatsoever shall be made by the York Society for freight or other charges incurred in the delivery or return of exhibits. All packages and wrappings must be clearly marked with the name and address of entrant and number of items contained. Collection: 12) Works may be collected from Society stewards only at the Town Hall from 4.00-5.30pm on Sunday, October16, or Monday, October 17, 10am-4pm. Other times must be arranged by appointment, ph. 9641 1276 or 9641 1339. After 90 days, unclaimed work will become the property of the York Society. Persons other than entrants or purchasers may collect works only with written authority. Alternatively, works will be despatched to you if you have arranged and prepaid a courier service.
13) Entries, including purchases, may not be removed from the
Town Hall before 4.00pm on Sunday, October 17. Insurance: 14) Entrants are responsible for arranging their own insurance. The York Society will take all reasonable care with submitted works, but shall not be responsible for loss or damage to works while they are in the custody of the Society or its agents.
